I Am Number Four

I have FINALLY finished a book after like, two weeks. So here goes my review! I'm so glad I finally got to finish this book! This book is also a movie now, and it's by Pittacus Lore.
There were nine of them at first. But they were hunted. Hunted by the Mogadorians. They traveled from the planet Lorien and came to Earth after the Mogadorians destroyed everything they had. They can only be killed in order. He is Number Four.
John has gone by many names during his life span. Every time danger is near, he moves somewhere else with a new identity. This time he is John Smith in the town of Paradise, Ohio. He has no parents, he lives with ihs protector, Henri. At first, it's easy to stay hidden. But then things start to change. The jock at the high school makes John use his alien strength on him, and it risks the existence of his kind. Then there's Sarah Hart, the girl he is in love with. But how can he keep such a secret from her? And then of course there's Sam, the alien geek, who comes very close to actually knowing that John is an alien. Once Number Three is killed, John is next. The Mogadorian's are near and he can feel it. But what can he do? He can't leave Paradise and start over again. Read this thrilling Sci-fi book to find out if John survives life while he is constantly being hunted.
I have to admit, I'm not a big fan of science fiction. But this book was really good! Like, crazy good! I thought it was a bit boring in the beginning, but once all the action starts and everything gets risky, you can't set the book down. I was literally hanging onto my seat just waiting to see what would happen next. Even though I don't like books that have boys as their main character, this was a really neat read! I really liked it! John was such a lovable character, he was so real. You immediately knew who he was and what he liked in the book, he wasn't just a character, he was a person. A real person. I liked the connection he had with Sarah, and what he had with his protector, or Cepan, Henri was really touching. The action in this book was unbelievably easy to understand, I wasn't lost. I was never like, "Hey, what's going on?". I understood everything. Overall, this book is AMAZING! You guys HAVE to read it before you see the movie!

Uncommon Criminals

I am so excited for this book right now!!! AH! It's Uncommon Criminals by Ally Carter and it's the sequel to Heist Society. This book isn't due until June 21st but hey, I can wait! Thanks to my friend Katie from Katie's Amazing Book Reviews for providing me with the cover and the summary, so enjoy the cover release of this book and make sure you guys visit Katie's blog!
Katarina Bishop has worn a lot of labels in her short life. Friend. Niece. Daughter. Thief. But for the last two months she's simply been known as the girl who ran the crew that robbed the greatest museum in the world. That's why Kat isn't surprised when she's asked to steal the infamous Cleopatra Emerald so it can be returned to its rightful owners.
There are only three problems. First, the gem hasn't been seen in public in thirty years. Second, since the fall of the Egyptian empire and the suicide of Cleopatra, no one who holds the emerald keeps it for long, and in Kat's world, history always repeats itself. But it's the third problem that makes Kat's crew the most nervous and that is simply... the emerald is cursed.
Kat may be way over her head, but she's not going down without a fight. After all she has her best friend- the gorgeous Hale- and the rest of her crew with her as they chase the Cleopatra around the globe, dodging curses, realizing that the same tricks and cons her family has used for centuries are useless this time
Which means, this time, Katarina Bishop is making up her own rules.

Whatever Happened to Janie

So I'm really pumped right now, because we have our second school party today! Yay! Haha, but before that, I gotta do a review. This book is by Caroline B. Cooney and its pretty much an oldie. Published in 1993! But, it is the sequel to The Face on the Milk Carton, so I decided to read it.
Janie Johnson found her face on the back of a milk carton, she's a missing child. She finds out that the family she's been living with all her life isn't actually her biological family. But how could she ever love anyone else but her current parents? They're loving and fun and caring. But when Janie makes a call to her real parents stating that she's alive, they insist on her going home. So Janie leaves her whole entire life behind, even her name. It turns out her real name is Jennie Spring. But how can she be a Spring and a Johnson at the same time? How can she love these strangers who she's supposed to call mom and dad? How can she forget the life that she left behind? If Janie likes the Springs, the Johnson's will be jealous, if Janie likes the Johnson's then that would mean hurting her biological parents. Whatever will Janie do?
I have to admit, I was kind of hoping for more in this book. The first one, The Face on the Milk Carton, was wayyy better, but this was still ok. I know that Janie would feel like a complete stranger in the Spring house, but she wasn't even trying to be nice. She refused to call them mom and dad, she didn't hug them, and she said I love you to the Johnson's purposely in front of them. I was like, "Can't you even try? They thought you were dead for 13 years!" But I guess I'd have to put myself in her position to really understand her situation. I was hoping there would be a little bit more of Reeve, Janie's boyfriend from back she was a Johnson, but he was only in it a little. But overall, this book had a very interesting plot and could grasp your attention to finish the book all the way through. If you're a fan of The Face on the Milk Carton or Caroline B. Cooney, then you gotta read this book.

The Lipstick Laws

Whats up everybody? Having a good day? I hope you are, because I have been having a very tiring day. I've been wanting to sleep allll dayyy longgg. Anyways... Here's the most recent book I've read: The Lipstick Laws by Amy Holder. Thankfully, this book was much better than the last book from this genre I read, called Populazzi.
April has a secret. She stuffs her bra with tissues. She knows that if this secret ever got out, her life would be ruined. Her social life. April has always wanted to be one of the popular crowd, and when she lends her lip gloss to Britney in the girls locker room, it seems as though she has gotten her wish. Things start out good at first, people started noticing her, and most importantly, the new kid, Matthew Brentwood noticed her. But everything changes when Britney asks her to sign the Lipstick Laws. When she signs, she must tell Britney all her secrets, listen to Britney all the time, base her decisions on all Britney, and much more! Things go very very wrong when April makes a mistake and the sabotage starts. Will April make it through the year as Britney does everything to ruin her life? Will Matt Brentwood ask her to the spring formal, or will Britney crush that too? Read this fantabulous, funny book to read all of April's adventures.
At first, I thought I would hate this book. I thought it would be everything that it wasn't. Thankfully, as I read on, the book got better and better. Things twisted and changed and everything went wrong, until the end of course. I liked April's character a lot, she wasn't very stereotypical, she was herself in every way, and I liked that. Matt was pretty cool too, even though he wasn't in the story much, he was also secretly known as Mr. Hottie-Body-Brentwood, which I thought was the BEST NICKNAME EVER. Lol, anyways... This book was filled with humor, some parts when I just had to stop reading and just plain out start laughing. There was also an amazing plot, things were going right and then BAM! Disaster. I like it when books are unexpectable, and this book was exactly that. So if you're looking for a good ol' popularity rivalry read, this book is definitely the one for you.
