Clarity

Hi peoples, how's summer? Mine's pretty boring so far, but it'll get better. I think... Especially since I've been reading so many awesome books! First, Clarity, by Kim Harrington. Then I'm gonna read Matched by Ally Condie, I'm really excited about that one!

When you can see things others can't, where do you look for the truth?
This paranormal murder mystery will have teens reading on the edge of their seats.
Clarity "Clare" Fern sees things. Things no one else can see. Things like stolen kisses and long-buried secrets. All she has to do is touch a certain object, and the visions come to her. It's a gift.
And a curse.
When a teenage girl is found murdered, Clare's ex-boyfriend wants her to help solve the case--but Clare is still furious at the cheating jerk. Then Clare's brother--who has supernatural gifts of his own--becomes the prime suspect, and Clare can no longer look away. Teaming up with Gabriel, the smoldering son of the new detective, Clare must venture into the depths of fear, revenge, and lust in order to track the killer. But will her sight fail her just when she needs it most?
I thought this book would be like another Body Finder, or Blue is for Nightmares, not that I don't LOVE those books, I've just read a lot that are similar, but surprisingly this book wasn't anything like that! It wasn't scary, it was its own thing and it was sooooo good. I really really liked it! And I hadn't read a murder mystery in a while so it was a good change. Throughout the whole thing, I never knew who was the killer, and boy was it a shocker. And I also couldn't set the book down, which is probably how I managed to finish it in one day. Unlike most books I read, I wasn't skimming through it to look for the good parts, they were ALL good. And Clare was such an amazing character, she stood up for her brother, herself, her family, no matter who she was talking to. Gabriel, well he was cool in the beginning, then he was a jerk, then he became cool again, and then a jerk.... so it was off and on, but he was still pretty amazing. He was super nice in the end. The whole plot of the book was original, even if it doesn't sound like it, and it was totally different from the other things I've read, which I like. And over all, it was amazinggg and I can't wait for the rest of the series!
