Hereafter

Why hello there fellow readers! Saba here with an awesome book review. It's definitely been a long time since I've read an amazing book, so you could imagine my surprise when I picked up the book Hereafter by Tara Hudson and was thoroughly pleased. I loved this book. It was sooo good! And here's the review before I start ranting about how much I loved this book:
Drifting in the dark waters of a mysterious river, the only thing Amelia knows for sure is that she's dead. With no recollection of her past life—or her actual death—she's trapped alone in a nightmarish existence. All of this changes when she tries to rescue a boy, Joshua, from drowning in her river. As a ghost, she can do nothing but will him to live. Yet in an unforgettable moment of connection, she helps him survive.
Amelia and Joshua grow ever closer as they begin to uncover the strange circumstances of her death and the secrets of the dark river that held her captive for so long. But even while they struggle to keep their bond hidden from the living world, a frightening spirit named Eli is doing everything in his power to destroy their newfound happiness and drag Amelia back into the ghost world . . . forever.
Thrilling and evocative, with moments of pure pleasure, Hereafter is a sensation you won't want to miss.
I was a little hesitant about picking this book up at first. The summary wasn't very exciting to me and I really wasn't in the mood for another disappointing book. But I was very surprised when I opened up the first page and was sucked in a wonderful new world. First, there was Amelia, who was a very great and real character. I could feel her pain and sorrow throughout the whole book and was one of the few times I felt the main character wasn't complaining and definitely wasn't stupid in figuring things out. And then there was Joshua, aside from Tucker from Unearthly and Alex from Delirium and probably a lot of other books I've read, Joshua was one of the most ammaaazzinggg characters I've ever read about. He was sooo nice to Amelia and so purely awesome that I was actually sad when the book ended and I realized there would be no more of him. Other than the amazing characters, this book had it all. The suspense, the twists, the drama, the humor, the romance, shall I go on? It was one of the few books where I found myself holding on to the edge of my chair and found my heart beating when things went wrong in the book. Joshua and Amelia's relationship was so strong that when I thought something bad was gonna happen I was silently screaming, no no no! I that probably sounds really cheesy, but it's really hard not to fall in love with this book. I hope that I've convinced you guys to read this book now, because it's surely a book not to be missed!!!
This book deserves...
FIVE STARS! <3
